Seeing the sky yesterday morning like this, the guys decided to start moving in the hay racks, bundle racks as they just got them out to start the days work. What it brought was strong winds, heavy rains, and small pea and quarter size hail. IT seemed like everything was ok after the rain, but the parking lot, Grandpa's farm was full of water. Unfortunately the horse pull was cancelled because of all the rain. Still with this we can't complain about the weather for this year's Franklin Co. Fair. When you have an outdoor event the weather plays an important part in what you can do. We had high wind, heavy rain, pea and quarter size hail yesterday morning at Hampton for the fair. I don't think any damage, just lots of water at Grandpa's farm, and the parking lot. Grandpa's Farm cancelled the horse pull, but everything else was a go. At noon, the sun came out, there was a slight breeze and ended up to be a good afternoon. All in all we can't complain about this because we had good weather all the rest of the week. Very successful fair...but like everything glad to go and help and work it, but now really glad to get everything home and just get back to work. Another vacation for us...so back to work on Tuesday. For the greenhouse it was very successful with sales, lots of gardeners stopped to ask questions and just to visit and catch up. Now I will get back to writing about gardening tomorrow. I will write up some of the questions I answered at the fair. Till next time, this is Becky Litterer from Becky's Greenhouse, Dougherty, Iowa
