Also for a nice Thanksgiving, I am still hoping for Indian Summer.  OK you are going to say you are crazy lady with the temperatures this week setting all kinds of low records.  See what happens.
With Thanksgiving on the horizon, two things are on the mind: turkey and travel! For the latter, weather makes a big difference. What conditions should you for expect for this year’s fall feast?

This year, Thanksgiving occurs very late in November—on Thursday, November 28.
2019 Thanksgiving Forecast: Weather to Be Thankful For

Thanks to a swathe of early winter storms and cold fronts, a good part of the country has already seen snow and freezing temperatures this fall. Will we see more “Frost on the Punkin” in time for Thanksgiving?

Well, we have good news for those who aren’t big fans of the white stuff: According to our long-range forecasts, much of the United States will avoid receiving more snow on Thanksgiving, and will instead be graced with sunny, clear skies for the holiday. This, along with colder-than-normal temperatures (but not colder than last year’s frigid temps), will make for a pleasant yet chilly Thanksgiving Day—something to ultimately be thankful for!

However, while we do predict that most of the country will experience nice weather on the day of Thanksgiving, we are expecting snow and rain showers to move through the country prior to the holiday, and for a few regions to see snow or rain on the day itself.

More Snow and Rain Expected Before Thanksgiving
Across much of the northern U.S., including the Northeast, Atlantic Corridor, Appalachians, Lower Lakes, and Ohio Valley, we’re expecting a mix of snow and rain to hit in the week leading up to Thanksgiving, but for sunny, clear skies to be revealed in time for the actual holiday. Good news for this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC!

In the Heartland and Upper Midwest, look for flurries on and around Thanksgiving.

In the southern U.S., including the Southeast and Deep South, expect a sunny Thanksgiving to be bookended by bouts of rain. Sunny Florida will remain so, with clear skies and cooler weather in store for the holiday.

Out west, in the High Plains and Intermountain regions, we foresee periods of rain and snow occurring on and around Thanksgiving. In Texas-Oklahoma and the Desert Southwest, this will manifest as scattered rain showers accompanied by milder-than-normal temperatures.

Along the Pacific coast, including in the Pacific Northwest and Pacific Southwest, expect periods of rain in the days leading up to the holiday—precipitation which may extend into Thanksgiving in the north, but clear up prior to the feast in the south.

In Alaska, flurries and periods of snow will occur prior to Thanksgiving, but a cold yet clear holiday is expected. Hawaii will receive sunny, pleasant weather for Thanksgiving, followed by rain showers to cap off the holiday weekend.
