Celebrate we will soon with the Christmas holiday coming...only 4 days away. Here is the message I will share on my weekly radio show. I will share it with you today as my celebration with the birth of our Lord. I have been doing the radio show for 18 years, every Saturday Morning. 5 minutes of sharing about gardening.
Good morning, welcome to my Garden show, Gardening and you. I am Becky Litterer from Becky’s Greenhouse in Dougherty. This show is about more than just the different aspects of gardening, it’s about how we can help you with your gardening needs. WOW
Here we go Christmas Eve, and all the preparation is almost done even if we are not ready Christmas Day is tomorrow. Larry and I want to say Merry Christmas to you all at this time of the year. The year of 2016 has been a good one for us. Another year at the shop and helping with your vehicles. Another year at the greenhouse and providing plants and vegetables for your gardens. We both are still enjoying doing these things and will continue another year. Plant order is in the works, and the schedule for starting in Feb. Larry is helping our garage customers with their vehicles, and enjoys working with the old and the new stuff.
We are blessed with another grandchild this November. Jennifer and Oscar had a baby girl on the 16th of November and all are doing well. For all of us that are grandparents there is nothing more satisfying as having them around. It just plays a big part in our heart to see our children become parents, the circle of life continues on.
With the Christmas time, it gives us time to reflect the Christmas past and all the ones that have played a part in our lives. My dad has been gone since 1970 but I do remember all the Christmas growing up on the farm and they still play a part of my Christmas today. My mom loved Christmas baking and candy making when I am doing that I know she is here helping me continue with that tradition. Larry being the oldest of his siblings of 6 , has many memories of being on the farm and doing things outside like sledding, caring for the animals during the winter, and just being with all of them. Our kids remember since they were very little, he would come home and insist that they were outside every day. Even for only 5 minutes, they needed to go outside all dressed up and play outside. Memories just go on and on. Hopefully all of you will be looking at the past, enjoying the present and be thankful for all we have. The Lord has blessed us and all of you. With the Lord's birth, we remember the best Christmas gifts are wrapped in heaven. Gift of love, gift of kindness, gift of faith, gift of a strong foundation, and the gift of appreciation and encouragement.
With a new year coming up, we will see you at Larry's Garage, Becky's Greenhouse, and all our Dougherty Events. We will see you at the Franklin Co Fair, Franklin Co Dinner Dance, we will see you at our church events at the West Fork Methodist Church. We will keep in touch with my blog on Becky's greenhouse.com. I have many hits each day, and so thanks to all of you for looking at that. Larry and I live in Dougherty with only 50 residents, but feel like our community is much larger than that. Wishing all of our community friends and family a very Merry Christmas. Hope all of you enjoy the holidays and are safe with the traveling.
With that in mind, Larry's Garage will be open during the week with Christmas on the weekend, we are closed. If you need some help with your vehicle give Larry a call at 641-794-3337 and make an appointment. Remember over 40 years of being at this location, and he is full service repair shop. He would love to help you. So give him a call or stop in and see him.
Bible verse today is Matthew 2:9-11New International Version (NIV)
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. I always share a devotion about this Bible Verse, but will do that another time.
Amen
