Here is an article that is fun. Cicero observed, " A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues." Nowhere is a thankful heart more appropriate than in the garden.
Whether it's a 2 acre or a midtown window box, a garden is a place where the majesty of creation is revealed each day. Mother Nature works her miracles as Father Time marks the cycle of life, meanwhile, the observant gardener witnesses a show like no other. And the price of a admission is a bargain a plot of ground, a ray of hope and a handful of seeds.
Sometimes a garden can be a frustrating place, Plants can be stubborn, pests can be persistent, and weather can be uncooperative. When things begin to grow wrong, so do emotions, but no one should work the soil in anger.
SO the next time you find yourself muttering about weeds, weather or bugs, pause to give thanks for your garden. it's a gift from God that keeps on giving. As such we gardeners are advise to keep on thanking.
Today's bible verse is from Psalm 130:6 I am looking and waiting for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, I say, more than watchmen for the morning.
If you have a problem, don't merely pray for the problem to go away or that you will get something you need or desire, pray that God will strengthen you during your waiting period. Pray that you will have the grace to wait with a thankful attitude.
The Bible teaches us that when we pray, if we believe we have received and do not doubt our prayer request will be granted. But it doesn't say we will immediately get what we ask for.
Because God's timing is perfect, we can trust Him in the waiting process. I believe that the attitude we wait with partially determines how long we have to wait. An attitude of gratitude glorifies God and is a good witness of our faith to other.
Dear Lord, help me learn to wait with a thankful attitude. I thank You that You have a good plan and purpose for me, and You know exactly what I need and when I need it. So I trust in You with a grateful heart. Amen
May joy and peace surround you,
contentment latch your door,
and happiness be with you now
and bless you evermore!
