Looks like a nice fall day today. Blue, clear sky and a little cooler but not too bad. But there is no wind so that is awesome. Hope it stays that way. I have been getting ready for winter putting plants away, composting plants and cleaning up the racks with help of Lyle and Ann. That is a good thing to have done. Still have pots to clean up and put away. But you ask then am I done with the greenhouse business. NOT at all. We have work inside the greenhouse. Propagating to do for next year with all those lovely succulents. Cleaning up some of the perennials before we put them to bed. Organizing plastic for planting next spring. Shade cloths will have to come down. There are plastic walls to put up so only 1/3 of the greenhouse is heated. Eventually trees and shrubs will be put in the east greenhouse but will wait as I can water them now easily.
Remember we still have garlic which can be planted now and November. Tulips, daffodils and many kinds of fall bulbs for those spring blooms can be planted now. I am still around and open Monday thru Friday from 9-6. Call me for an appointment for the weekend.
How are you doing with your fall cleanup? I know it isn’t as much fun as planting, but things do need to come to an end. We can start planning for next year. I hope all of you had a great gardening year. I did and starting to plan for next year. Oh yea, that is on the list start ordering plants plugs and seeds for next year. So you can see my gardening season is all year long. I wrote more than I thought so I will have this as one post and them the article about how to store your produce will be in the next one.
