Here we are at Ash Wed. The start of the Lent season...wow didn't we just have Christmas. I will share with you today a devotional about Ash Wed. Very interesting...
Bible Verse Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Planning a journey in most households evokes a symphony of differing opinions. the Planning process usually goes something like this: "Let's go to the beach!" "No, No...let's go to the mountains instead!" " Well, I think we should go to the city!" Plan A turns into Plan B. After a bit of arguing, Plan B turns into Plan C. This plan soon becomes Plan D. And eventually, the family agrees on Plan E: let's just stay home.
God does not plan this way. Christ's journey to the cross was the plan from the very beginning. God formed his creation knowing that people would eventually rebel against him. He knew that sin would bring death. He also knew that he would reverse sin's curse through the death of his Son.
From the beginning, your Savior planned to journey to the cross so he could give you the gift of eternal life. That's how deep his commitment to you runs. Thank you Lord for all that you have done for us. Amen
