Wind still blowing, so it is still nasty out there and the temperature is at 6 degrees. We are still in winter. I am working on the plants descriptions while the weather is so much winter. I am coming up with some fun ideas to share with you. It is making me excited about the upcoming growing season. Soon we will be planting, and life will get busy then. I am working on a big concept of Gardening Learning. Everything I do, even without telling the gardener I am doing to help you with your gardening needs. So I am offering learning. I have been doing this for all the years of growing plants, but this year I am going to be promoting that concept all the time.
During open house we give away plants, so working on the plants to give away I came up with the idea for "Gardening Learning" to show you different ways of designing containers or gardens with the plants you use. So with the planning of the plants I have added another thing to the list to do when I am working on the spread sheet of all we grow.
What do you know about the spiller, thriller and filler concept of designing containers? This was developed by a great marketing tool for the Proven Winners growers. This is just one way of designing a container. You would put in the middle the THRILLER, something tall to give the container some height. The FILLERS would be placed around the container so they would like the word says fill in the container space. The SPILLER would be placed so like it says to spill or fall over the container giving another look to the design. Short lesson on gardening...goes along with "Gardening Learning".
