Mary S. had a question about a certain iris and here is what one of my wholesalers wrote.
" It was probably Gingersnap. It is a brown Iris that has a root beer scent. It is an older variety, introduced in 1965. Unfortunately we don't have enough stock to offer it wholesale. You can view it on our website. However our image has more red in it that the color actually is. It is a pale brown. This is a note from Schreiner's Gardens. Pretty cool iris."
Now maybe I can find it at a different supplier, see what I can do. If any of you find it, let me know and see if we can grow it here.
Here is a simple addition to an old staple bean soup. Put in a can of stewed tomatoes, and cook the soup. Then when you serve it put in a dollop of horseradish in your bowl. Only add the horseradish if you like, but try adding the can of tomatoes. Changes the taste and the cook I got this from said it was very good.
So till next time, this is Becky Litterer from Becky's Greenhouse Dougherty I promise you spring is coming.
